This is a DIY cat nest bed project with a comprehensive step-by-step guide to help you build this PVC cool project. It's quite straightforward—though dedicating some time to measure and cut all the pieces is necessary, the outcome is truly remarkable! Additionally, this nest bed offers the option to incorporate rolling tubes; just glue some rope, and observe your cats delight in it!

The dimensions of this cat nest bed are 31.4" in width, 34.4" in height, and with a depth of 16". However, you have the flexibility to customize it to your specifications by modifying the free 3D design. For a polished look, we suggest achieving a perfect finish by sanding each PVC tube and then applying a primer, followed by a quick-drying paint in your preferred color.

Ideal for: cats or little pets that can easily jump to each floor.

Step 1: Making the Superior Frame of the Cat Nest Bed

Start by cleaning all your PVC pipes. Subsequently, measure each piece based on your part list and execute precise cuts.

Once all the components are prepared, take the extra step of sanding them, even if they appear clean. This step helps the paint resist easy scratching. This DIY project is straightforward, for DIY enthusiasts.We'll proceed from the top to the bottom.

In this step gather four PVC 3-Way Outlets, along with two PVC tubes measuring 6.3", two tubes at 7.9", four tubes spanning 15.7", and two tubes with a length of 15.92".

Take your four 3-way outlets along with your 1" PVC pipes measuring 15.7".

Utilize PVC cement, keeping in mind its quick-drying nature. So be careful!

Connect the four 15.7" PVC pipes with the 3-way connectors, placing the remaining two pipes onto the 3-way outlets on your right. Then, insert the two pipes with a length of 6.3" into the 3-way outlet on your left.

Observe how the 6.3" pipe is linked to a 7.9" pipe through a 3-way outlet.

Be meticulous in verifying the measurements of the pipes and their placement, given the formidable strength of the cement.

This illustrates the intended appearance.

Step 2: Building the Frame for the Base of the Nest Bed

Moving on to the lower segment of the cat nest bed, which builds the bed's legs; you have the option to include PVC caps if desired. This part will ultimately link with the upper section we built earlier.

Grab four 4-way outlets and join the four 15.7" PVC pipes to establish the base. Subsequently, attach two 15.7" PVC pipes and two 7.9" PVC pipes to the remaining 4-way outlets. The shorter legs are made from 3'' high PVC pipes.

Next, position the frame previously assembled onto the central base. One side connects to the 7.9" pipes, while the other links to the 6.3" pipes on the 3-way outlet.

Observe that the structure features holes aligned with the 4-way outlets pointing forward. This is where the third segment of the cat nest bed will be placed, featuring a hammock and rolling pipes covered with rope.

Step 3: Making the Hammock Section for the Cat Nest Bed

In this phase, adhere two 3-way outlets to the four 15.7" pipes, and then attach this completed unit to the 15.8" PVC pipe tube. Proceed to glue the remaining 15.7” long PVC pipes to both the 3-way and 4-way outlets. The legs, measuring 12.41'', will be affixed to the lower 4-way outlets.

Once this section is completed, introduce the broad PVC tube, ideally 1 1/2" in width, securing it to the lower 15.7" PVC pipes that connect to the 3-way outlets of the main structure. Use as glue acrylic bars to fasten the rope to the 1 1/2" PVC pipes.

The segment featuring the rolling pipes serves as the foundation for the hammock.

Feel free to revisit the 3D design to double-check measurements and confirm the proper placement of each part, in case you have any doubts.

Step 4: The PVC Cat Nest Bed's Finishing Touch

Lastly, let's provide the structure with the desired finish. We applied a coat of gray primer followed by brown paint, ensuring thorough coverage on every inch of the pipes. Be sure to sand the 3-way and 4-way outlets, as well as the tee slips, to prevent the paint from easily flaking.
