Introduction: 18 Inch Doll Dress

I made this dress with my mom and waned to share it. Hope you enjoy.

Step 1: Step 1: Pick Out Fabric

Your fabric should be something light weight and easy to work with.

Step 2: Step 2: Cut the Fabric

Measure a 14.5 by 7 inch rectangle and cut two out of the fabric. Cut the second rectangle in half.

Step 3: Step 3: Sew

Take the largest rectangle and sew across the top in the biggest setting. Do that to the other two. Make sure not to back stitch or cut the end strings.

Step 4: Step 4: Iron to Sew a Hem

Iron the fabric and iron it down to hem it. Make sure the fabric can be ironed before using an iron on it.

Step 5: Step 5:Hem the Rectangles

Sew the hem on to the three pieces of the skirt.

Step 6: Step 6: the Skirt

Pull one of the strings and bunch up the fabric.

Step 7: Step 7: the Bodice

Place the skirt aside and start the bodice

Step 8: Step 8: the Bodice

The bodice should be 6.5 inches at the waste and 5 inches tall. To cut the bodice use a sleeveless 18 inch doll dress. You should have two pieces for the back and one for the front.

Step 9: Step 9: Back of the Top

Make the back of the top with two sides of the top. make the sides a little bigger then they really are. Cut out all of the pieces.

Step 10: Step 10: Sewing the Top Together

Sew all the hems then sew the top together.

Step 11: Step 11: Sewing the Skirt to the Bodice

Put the skirt together one side on each of the bigger pieces sides.

Step 12: Step 12: Finishing

Sew on some velcro or snaps or any type of closing device. After that put it on your doll and have her model it.
