Introduction: Acne Fading Mask

We all get acne sometimes and when they come it is nothing pretty. It's like an unwanted house guest that stays and eats all your food, doesn't wash the dishes and they have the nerve not to make up the bed. Acne is never wanted and the scars they leave makes you want to curse them out and hope they never come back. This turmeric face mask will help lighten the scars but you have to use this mask frequently.

****As always make sure you do a patch test on your wrist. Tumeric does stain so you don't want to leave this mask on to too long and it's a little messy so use a old towel and wear an old shirt****

Ingredients

1 tsp of Tumeric (please go to the spice market, or get it as organic as possible. I was lucky enough enough to get it from my Cosmo and Instructable buddy Kiriko)

3 Tbsp Organic Greek Yogurt

1 tsp Organic Honey

Tumeric is a spice mainly used in Thai and Indian cooking. Tumeric is a bright yellow/orange spice that is used in making curry. Tumeric is also a great antioxidant that helps fend off free radicals, which can age your skin prematurely. It also has anti inflammatory properties, which help reduces skin inflammation.

Honey is a natural humectant. A humectant helps retain or preserve moisture. It hydrates, nourishes and lubricates the skin. Honey has strong antibacterial and antiseptic properties that help limit bacteria to the skin. It helps even out skin discolorations, age spots, acne scars and dark spots to the skin.

Greek Yogurt has lactic acid which is a great exfoliant. It is full of protein, enzymes, and zinc. Yogurt does a great job at cleaning up and softening the skin. It lightens dark spots and blemishes by helping protect your face with its antioxidant properties. It can help calm dry, irritated or sensitive skin.

Step 1: Mix It Up

Mix the greek yogurt,turmeric and honey together I would recommend mixing it in a cold container. Tumeric can stain so please wear an old shirt and be careful because it is messy. Leave the mask on for 15 minutes. Wash the mask off with warm water. This mask should be done 3 times a week to see any results.
