Introduction: Amazing Sharpie Leaf Art!

Have you ever wanted to create a picture without having any artistic knowledge? I personally don't think I can draw, but people seem to think I have the artistic touch. So, I set out to discover my talent and challenged myself to create a project that was was easy to make, looked beautiful, and wasn't very time consuming.

Step 1: Supplies

Here are the things you'll need:

Supplies
Paper
Leaf stencils, or outlines (you can search for them on Google or make them yourself)
Sharpie{s}-(I would suggest two colors, one as the main color, one as the accent color)
Pencil- (A dull pencil works best so you can erase mistakes)
Patience- (Yes, it's required)

Step 2: Start Cutting Out Your Stencils

As I said before, Google images has a pretty good variety. I re-sized the leafs to fit the paper, then cut them out.

Step 3: Start Tracing

Now you will start tracing with your pencil. Try to scatter the leaves, overlap them. make them go out the picture, and just be creative or else it won't look fun. A good way of doing this is to just throw the leaves on the paper and trace them.

Step 4: Finish Tracing

Make sure the paper looks even (So that the paper doesn't look like there are too many leaves in one spot, or not enough in another.

Step 5: Start Tracing the Outlines With Sharpie Marker

Be very careful on this step! Use the main color sharpie for this part.

Step 6: Finish Tracing With Sharpie Marker

Your paper should now look something like this.

Step 7: Patterns

Now start thinking about what patterns you want to use in your leaves. Draw them on paper so you can visualize and remember them.    Don't try to make it perfect, you won't be using this paper.

Step 8: Draw the Patterns in Your Leaves

Try not put the same pattern next to or very close to each other, as this will mess up the effect of it looking "equal."

Step 9: Start on Your Background

Decide what you want your background to be. Some suggestions are - Stripes, Polka Dots, Shapes, or even animals if you're very creative.

Step 10: You're Done!

Use this project as a bedroom decor, a gift, a wall decal inspiration, or anything you want! Enjoy! :)
