Introduction: BOHO Inspired Macrame Wall Hanging

About: I make videos on my YouTube channel about all the projects I've made. Check it out Chipped Builds on instagram and YouTube.

Right now macrame is super popular. I had been wanting to make my own sign for awhile now and finally got around to doing it. With the help of my glowforge and some rope I was able to make this sign.

Step 1: Cut Out the Base & Words

I made a very easy design for this project with the words be kind being highlighted. I used my laser cutter to cut out the kit using 1/4 inch mdf.

Step 2: Paint & Glue

I used chalk paint for this sign. I did a base coat of white paint since mdf likes to really suck up paint. Then I did a coat of the green color.

Some of my boho lines were filled with paint so I used a vinyl tool to get the excess paint out.

I used my favorite super glue (starbond) to attach the letters to the backer.

Step 3: Tying the Rope

There are so many ways to make macrame knots. I suggest turning to google for some cooler looking ones. I just did a simple knot.

I folded my 36" inch piece of rope in half and shoved it through the slot. Then I pushed it behind the piece and pushed the open ends of the rope through the loop. I then pulled the rope to tighten it in place.

Step 4: Enjoy Your New Sign!

I love how this sign turned out. Let me know if you make one!
