This simple whistle uses a breathalizer mouthpiece, it's meant to be thrown away but this is a more environmentally friendly approach to dealing with it, alongside getting a whistle at the end!

Supplies

1x Breathalyzer Mouthpiece

A 3D Printer

Some Superglue/PVA

A triangular file

A drill (optional)

A soldering iron (preferably with adjustable temperature)

Step 1: Get Pulled Over!

There are many ways to get pulled over, it's not really something I'd suggest trying to make happen so this is just for people who have already been pulled over and breathalyzed.

Step 2: Cut the End Off

Cut the end off just before the plastic so the end can later be covered up

Step 3: Seal the End Off

I'm using a soldering iron for this (at 170 degrees) however a hot glue gun could be used.

The end needs to be air tight!

While the end being sealed there's a little hole at the bottom which you can cover with your finger (to quickly stop/start make sound from the whistle), or seal it up to just have it always work when you blow into it.

If you do choose to use a soldering iron, make sure to be outside or in a well ventilated area as it can create smoke.

Step 4: File the End to Smooth It Out

This isn't needed but it makes the whistle look a lot nicer at the end

Step 5: Get the 3D Printer Out!

There is a small insert which needs to be 3d printed (or it could fairly easily be made out of wood).

Step 6: Glue Your Insert In

I used superglue but looking back at it, PVA (non-toxic too) might have been better as it dries clear and it would have been good enough.

Remember it needs to be air tight!

Step 7: File It Down!

For this step, you'll need to file the mouthpiece down, just past where the insert is glued in.

I've got a triangular file (which I think is best for this) and you have to slowly file it down, then blowing into the whistle (covering the hole at the end if you didn't glue it) and seeing if/how well it works, use my whistle pictures as a guide.
