Introduction: Bunny Rabbit Cheese Ball With Crackers

I am the dedicated cheese ball maker for all family gatherings.  If I show up without one then I might as well head right back out the door..my family is so loving!  As you can imagine, making a cheese ball gets pretty boring.  So I like to challenge myself each holiday to sculpt my boring appetizer into something interesting.  This was my Easter offering and I think it turned out super cute.

I don't have anymore pictures but it's very easy to make.  Here's what you'll need:

- 1 package of Cream Cheese at room temperature
- 2 cups Shredded Cheese (I used a Monterey Jack and Cheddar mix - use whatever you like)
- Worcestershire Sauce to taste (I think this makes it so use generously if you do too - 1 to 2 tablespoons)
- Diced Onions (optional)
- 1 block of cheese (I used Monterey Jack and I cut the rest up for another cheese and cracker appetizer tray because I only need a little for the ears and nose)
- Crackers of your choice
- Plastic Wrap
- Serving Tray
- Plastic Googly Eyes

Step 1: Make the Cheese Ball Bunny

Mix together cream cheese, 3/4 of the package of shredded cheese, Worcestershire sauce, and onions if you are using them in a bowl with a spoon. Scrape way from bowl sides into the middle of the bowl. Put a piece of plastic wrap on the bowl and put in refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes to firm the cheese up a little. You need it to be stiff enough to handle it ..like cookie dough.

Cut three slices of cheese off your cheese brick. Make 2 of them about 1/8" to 1/4" thick for the ears and nose. Cut the third piece a bit chunkier for the tail..about 1/2". Trim the edges of two thinner pieces to form a rounded shape, then taper the opposite ends so you end up with a teardrop shape. Cut a triangular shape for the nose out of your scraps. Cut the third slice into a cube and then slice the corners off of the cube to make it more like a chiseled ball shape.

Wash your hands (again..I'm sure you did in the beginning but do it again now because you will be handling the cheese ball). Lay out a piece of plastic wrap and sprinkle the remaining 1/4 of the shredded cheese on it. Grab your cheese mixture out of the bowl and form into a ball. Roll the cheese mixture into the shredded cheese to coat. Now start shaping the ball into an egg shape. Just keep piling the cheese on and pressing in to use all of it.

Take your egg shape and place on your tray. Place the nose where you like it and push in until seated in the cheese ball. Grab your googly eyes and push them into the ball above the nose. Now insert the pointed end of the teardrop shaped ears in just above and outside your eyes for your floppy ears. Push the chunk of tail you made on the bunny's rump. Eat your leftover cheese scraps - yum :) Spread the crackers around your bunny and serve.

Although it's doubtful that anyone will try to eat the eyes.. if you aren't sure about your guests then just remove them when you start cutting into the bunny ball!
