Introduction: Cardboard Marble Labyrinth

This Cardboard Marble Labyrinth it is a marble puzzle that is very entertaining and requires a lot of concentration to complete the labyrinth. It is an easy and fun project that gives a great product.

Step 1: Materials

The materials you will need to make a Cardboard Marble Labyrinth are:

  • Cardboard

Also you will need some tools:

  • Sharp-Blade Knife
  • Glue
  • 1 inch Hole Saw Drill Bit
  • Drill
  • Rulers
  • Pencils

Step 2:

First you will need to cut out two 12 inch by 12 inch squares for the two bases of the labyrinth. What I did was I measured one out and cut it and then I traced the second one this saved me some time and helped me get two same squares.

Step 3:

You will need to cut out four 12.25 inch by 2.5 inch rectangles for the sides of the labyrinth.

Step 4:

Next you will need to cut out four 1.25 inch by 11.75 inch rectangles for the support in the interior of the labyrinth. Then you will also need to cut out four 0.75 inch by 11.75 inch rectangles for the exterior edges of the labyrinth.

Step 5:

You will now need to take one of the two 12 inch by 12 inch squares and draw out your labyrinth. one thong to keep in mind is that your holes are 1 inch of diameter and your marble also has to be able to pass through the maze so don't make your walls too close together. once you've done that you should have everything to assemble the exterior of the maze.

Step 6:

next you will need to cut out at least eight 0.75 inch by 12 inch rectangles for the walls in your labyrinth. Next you will need to cut them so that they are the right size and can fit in your labyrinth.

Step 7:

You will now need to take off the pieces you cut out for the walls of the labyrinth. Remember to memorize were you put your pieces or you can do step 6 after step 7 if that helps you. Now you will need to take you drill with the 1 inch hole saw drill bit and drill your holes in the cardboard. Be very careful if you aren't you can tear the cardboard.

Step 8:

Next you will need to take the 0.75 inch by 11.75 inch rectangles and glue them on the edge of the square you just drilled holes into.

Step 9:

Next you will need to take the pieces that you cut out to make the walls in you maze and glue them down.

Step 10:

You will now need to take one of the 2.25 inch by 12.25 inch rectangle and cut out a 0.75 inch square on the bottom left corner.

Step 11:

now you will need to take the 2.25 inch by 12.25 inch rectangles and glue them on the outside of the second 12 inch by 12 inch square.

Step 12:

next you will need to cut out two 1.25 inch by 1.5 inch rectangles and cut two notches halfway down the middle of both of them. then you will need to interlock them.

Step 13:

You will need to glue it in the middle of the base, it will help support the labyrinth.

Step 14:

You will now need to place in the inside of the labyrinth the four 0.75 inch by 11.75 rectangles and with a pencil mark were the entrance is and then cut it out from the pieces you just put on the inside of the labyrinth. Then glue them down to the labyrinth.

Step 15:

You should now have two pieces left all you have to do is inter lock them together to have a complete labyrinth. Another thing you can do for aesthetics you can draw a path to show were to go in the labyrinth.

Step 16: Conclusion

I'm not sure if I was clear enough in explaining the steps, but I think the photos will help. Also if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Suggestions and corrections are appreciated. I hope you enjoyed making this Cardboard Marble Labyrinth.
