*Warning: this instructable shows you how to make a pointed arrow head capable of serious injury. Always use precaution and good judgement whenever doing something potentially dangerous and lethal.*

Here's a simple way to make a cheap arrow head from scrap materials. I wouldn't go hunting with this arrowhead nor rely on it in a survival situation if I could help it.

That being said this makes a great temporary/ disposable arrow head you can add onto you're homemade arrows or store bought.

Here I'm attaching it to a wooden arrow I've made from a dowel.

Step 1: Aluminum Scrap

I cut a rectangle out of a scrap piece of aluminum. While it's stronger than regular soda can aluminum it's still really flexible and therefore weaker than proper arrowheads. Again this is for target practice or as a last result

Curl it into a tube and snip away enough so that the ends meet when on the dowel.

Step 2: Punch, Drill, Puncture!

Place the tube on the dowel. The dowel should go about half way up the tube. tape it in place if needed..

Drill or punch some holes into the aluminum. This is so we can run some wire or string through it and tie off.

I suggest make the holes in the tube while it's off the dowel. Once those are made put the tube back on the dowel. If you do it separately you're gonna have a hard time matching up the holes

Using the holes in the tube as guides drill through the width of the dowel through the holes in the tube.

At this point you can pull of the tube and cover the inside with sum strong glue and then slipping it back on making sure to match up the holes.

This isn't necessary but it will significantly increase the bond between the arrow head and dowel

Step 3: Strap Up

Run some wire through the hole and wrap it around a few times. You can use pliers to really grip the wire and tighten it.

I highly suggest using wire but in a pinch you could use some strong cordage..like the inner strands inside paracord.

Step 4: Beat It.

I added tape to hide the wire and keep the sharp ends down.

Now hammer or with pliers squeeze together the end of the tube into a flat shape

Step 5: Getting to the Point.

Initially I was goin to cut out a shape of an arrow head and use some kind of epoxy or strong adhesive to glue the cut edges closed.

Instead I just folded the corners over to get this shape shown above.

I did this because I realized I didn't have any strong adhesive and I figured it'll add weight and rigidity by simply folding over the edges
