Introduction: Citrus Sorbet

An original tasty treat for a hot day. I love Orange Julius and wanted to make something kind of like it with some fresh fruit. I thought of some things that would go well with oranges and put in random measurements of them in until I got it just right. It tastes fresh and light and is perfect for hot summer days. This recipe can also be made with grape fruit instead of oranges, but if your'e using grape fruits you may want to put in more sugar.

Step 1:

Ingredients
3/4 c whipping cream
1/2 c sugar
2 oranges
1/2 lemon
3 key limes
1 tsp. almond extract
4 c ice
6 oz frozen orange juice

Step 2:

Cut the oranges into halves. Scrape them out with a grapefruit spoon. Put them orange into a bowl. Put the shells in the freezer.

Step 3:

Halve each of the key limes and the lemon. Put away half of the lemon to use for something else.

Step 4:

Put the orange and sugar into the blender and mix. Squeeze in the lime and lemon juice and blend.

Step 5:

Put the ice, frozen orange juice, and almond extract into the mixture and blend. Set aside.

Step 6:

Whip the cream.

Step 7:

Pour the cream and the mixture into a large bowl and stir. Chill in the freezer with the shells for 3 or more hours. Scoop the sorbet into the shells and enjoy! Store extra sorbet in the freezer.
