Hi Friends. I just made a Boho style necklace with pop of colors. I have used crochet to make this elegant neckpiece.

If you are looking for a perfect jewelry to wear then this one is for you. This adorable crochet necklace would be a great accessory to wear on your beach trips.

Simple crochet stitches are used in this piece of necklace and with the basic knowledge on crochet we can easily make it.

So lets get started.

Abbrevation:

For basic crochet stitches, you can look into Beginners Crochet Stitches

ch - Chain

sc - Single Crochet

dc - Double Crochet

slst - slip stitch

Step 1: Tools and Materials Needed

Tools:

Any color 4 ply yarn (Blue and Multicolour Purple)

3mm Crochet hook

Jump Rings

Wire cutters

Measuring tape

Flat needle

Nose pliers

Clasp

Step 2: The Neck Chain

I have used the gold metallic finish yarn here to do the neck part.

Do 92 chain. This is the approx measurement for ladies. If you want to increase the length you can increase the chain.

Step 3: Chain Part 2

Turn and skip the second stitch and do sc (single crochet) for rest of the chain stitch (91 stitch).

Now the neck piece would be able and stand upright.

Try it on your neck and check the length.

Step 4: The Locket Part

Start with the maroon part.

Start from 37th stitch from one side and do 20 sc (single crochet) across.

Ch1 and turn the work. 20 sc (single crochet) across.

Step 5: Maroon Base Part

Repeat (ch 1, turn 20 sc) for two times

Now this will be base of the locket.

Cut the yarn leaving a good length for final weaving.

Step 6: Magic Circle Step 1

Now for the semicircle part, we need to first make a circle with crochet.

It is basically going in round and keep increasing the stitches as we go to the outer circles.

Round 1: In magic ring, Sc (single crochet) 8. (8 sts) Cream yarn

Round 2: 2 Dc (double crochet) in each st (16 sts) Yellow Yarn

Step 7: Magic Circle Part 2

Round 3: *Dc, 2 dc in next st (24 sts) Purple Yarn

Round 4: *Dc 2, 2 dc in next st (32 sts) Pink Yarn

Step 8: Semi Circle

Complete the circle and fold it to form a semi circle.

Sew the outer ends together closed.

With the long end of maroon yarn sew the semicircle to the base locket.

Step 9: The Shell Part 1

Insert maroon yarn and then go around the semicircle 24 sc (single crochet)

Turn over and ch 3 (chain).

*(Skip 3 stitches and slip stitch on the next stitch)*

Repeat ** till end. There should be 8 chain in which we will be doing the 8 shells.

Step 10: The Shell Part 2

The next part is weaving in the golden beads. We will be doing 2 dc (Double crochet), add a bead and the again 2 dc in each chain loop.

This will be repeated in each chain loop across. There are 8 chain loops.

The lockets is completed. Weave in any excess yarn.

Step 11: Yarn Tassles

Yarn tassels are also very trendy in jewelry design.

The first step of how to make tassels is to determine what size you would like your tassel.

I have taken about 2 inches.

Starting at one end, wrap the yarn around the cardboard. Don’t pull too tightly as this will make your tassel shorter than you want. Stop when the tassel has the desired thickness and cut the end.

Cut the yarn at the bottom of the cardboard.

Now tie a knot about 1/2 inch from the bend.

Insert another piece of yarn through the bend and double knot it to the locket. Secure any excess ends.

I have added 4 tassels.

Step 12: Final Finishing Touches

Add jump rings to one end of the necklace. This can be done with a nose plier.

Similarly in the other end of the necklace add the lobster clasp along with some jump rings.

And, Tada, you are done with a boho Style necklace done with crochet.
