Christmas socks are one of the most remarkable symbols of this holiday. There is hardly a family, which does not decorate their home with these accessories. There is a rich choice of them available on sale these days and you can select the one you like most of all. But, let’s admit, there is nothing more pleasant than beautiful than a décor element you have created on your own. In this Instructable, we will learn how to make Christmas socks you will also be able to wear afterwards. You can paint the Christmas socks with your kids and then decorate your home with them. Kids will look for sweets and small present in them on Christmas and this will bring holiday atmosphere into your home. Doesn’t this sound great? Then let’s get started!

Step 1: Supplies

To paint Christmas socks, you will need the following supplies:

red socks
synthetic and flat paint brush
acrylic textile paints (white, green, red)
golden or silver fabric contour
water to wash the brush
iron

Step 2: Draw the Element on the First Sock

Take white acrylic paint and start drawing the contours of the first element on the sock. The elements should not be complicated. I chose a holly and a Christmas tree - the major and the most favorite symbols of the holiday. So, take the first sock and draw a holly branch. By the way, it is recommended to use thick socks to prevent the paint from getting absorbed. In case you use thin socks, place a piece of cardboard inside them.

Step 3: Draw the Element on the Second Sock

Take the second sock and draw the contours of a small Christmas tree on it.

Step 4: Paint the Drawings Inside

Now, paint the drawings inside using white paint. Let them dry out a bit. To speed up the process, you can put the socks on the radiator for about 10 minutes.

Step 5: Use Other Paints to Decorate the Drawings

Now, take red paint and draw three small berries in the center of your holly branch. Paint the leaves of it green. Use the same paint to finish the Christmas tree. Add a bit of white paint to whiten the berries, leaves and Christmas tree a bit. Place the socks on the radiator again until the paints dry out.

Step 6: Paint the Contours Gold or Silver

Take a golden fabric contour and paint the contours of your drawings gold. If you don’t have the contour at hand, you can use white, silver or gold paint and a paint brush to draw the contours.

Step 7: Draw Decorative Elements

Draw any decorative elements you wish. I added fairy lights to the Christmas tree and snowfalls surrounding the holly branch.

Step 8: Decorate Your Home!

That’s it! Your unique Christmas socks are now ready! Just make sure the paints have dried out well, iron the socks from the inside and… you are welcome to decorate your home with this accessory! They are so cute, aren’t they?
