About: Hey, I'm Muhaimina! A Craftaholic person (or Witch if you may say!). Obsessed with swirls and polka dots... and Instructables is pretty much my second home! Follow my IG Blog https://www.instagram.com/the_craf…

Hello there! Posting an Ible after a very long time! I'm so glad I finally managed to craft these earrings to participate for the jewellery challenge. I do craft pieces of jewellery every now and then for my handcrafted jewellery business but I can't just post a random project here! I had to come up with something beautiful and lively.

In this tutorial, I will show how to make these felt Boho style earrings in a few easy steps. Check out the full Ible and let me know what you think!

Supplies

  1. Felt fabric - 4 or more different colours
  2. Fabric marking pen
  3. Scissors
  4. Fabric glue
  5. Needle and matching threads
  6. Seed beads
  7. Blank ear tops
  8. Cowrie shells - 2
  9. Jewellery charms
  10. Jewellery pliers or craft pliers

Step 1: Template

Print out this template and select the size you want. Or you could come up with your own design!

Step 2: Preparing the Patterns

I tried to select colours that give a boho/ ethnic vibe. Selected Dark brown for the backside; I hardly use dark brown felt for any craft hence I'm using this for the backside base of the earrings.

The front side has 2 parts, 1 base part, which includes the pentagon and the arc shape. The other is the pattern part, which includes the patterns.

Trace the template patterns on the chosen felt fabrics and cut them out nicely.

Or simply go for a design of your own.

Step 3: Stitching the Patterns

Grab the front base pattern (the pentagon) and grab any one of the pattern cutouts; I'm selecting the rhombus cutouts.

Firstly, I placed the small rhombus in the centre of the big rhombus and then stitched 4 golden seed beads in the centre to stitch the 2 rhombus cutouts together.

Then I placed the rhombus pattern near the bottom end of the pentagon base (front part) and stitched the rhombus by using matching thread.

lastly, for this pattern, I stitched a yellow seed bead border around the rhombus pattern.

Step 4: Completing the Pattern Stitching

The rest of the process is the same. Simply place the cutouts on the front base, stitch them with the base and then add a seed bead border.

Once you're done stitching all the front patterns, grab the backside base and the arc-shaped cutout; place it on the top arc-shaped part of the backside base. I stitched the outer side of the patterns to attach them and then stitched 3 seed beads in the centre.

Step 5: Attaching the Chamrs

Now place the front part on the top of the backside base and simply stitch around the side to join the back and front base together.

I stitched 4 small golden jewellery charms and a cowrie shell along the bottom side of the pentagon pattern while stitching the back and front base.

Step 6: Completing the Earrings

Done stitching? Tie 2 or 3 tight knots, draw the needle between the 2 base cutouts and randomly draw the needle out from between them. Cut off extra thread if required.

Attach blank ear tops on the backside of the arc part to complete the earrings. You can use fabric glue or hot glue to attach the blank ear tops.

And done!

The designs and patterns you can come up with are endless! get creative and crafty to make yourself a pair of these boho style earrings! Also, won't these earrings be the best gift for a loved one? Hope you enjoyed the tutorial and the final project!

Thank you!
