Introduction: DIY Chef Toque

About: loves- reading manga/wattpad, creating crafts/DIYs, drawing, doodling, painting, traveling, museum hunting, watching movies, listening to music, contemplating, etc

Materials:
2 white long folder
scissor
clear tape
cutter
glue
ruler
washi tape
tape measure
pencil

Step 1: Measurements

1. With tape measure, get the head circumference. In my kid’s case, it’s 54cm.

Step 2: Lay It Out

2. Using the folder, measure and cut the desired length and
width of the base of the toque you want to make. Mine: height-10cm, length- I cut it through from one end of the folder to the other end. Then, cut another one on the same folder with same height, same length. Paste them together to create a longer rectangular cutout, as for me it is 54cm plus some allowance on the length. This is for when you finally paste and form the circle to fit in the head.

Step 3: Create Pleats

3. Cut the folder in half. Make cutouts with 1&1/2” width, length is variable to the width of the folder. See picture. Use both halves of the folder.

Step 4: Layout the Pleats

Paste the rectangular cutouts on the based on step 2 to form the pleats of the toque. For better hold, I used a clear tape on the pleats.

Step 5: Make the Toque

Now, with the pleats on the toque’s base, form it into circle, paste and tape it. Done!

Step 6: Additional Design

6. Because it was asked that I put the label “BAKER”, I cut a small rectangle from the folder and recycle some printed letters from an old book. I attached it to the toque with paste and washy tape.
