Introduction: DIY Duck Ear Buds

About: DIY is my addiction. It's fun and exciting. If I see a fun and interesting project, I have to tackle it.

I saw these ear buds with duck on the ends so I thought would try to replicate them. Here is my attempt. Now you can use this to make other animals. Comment what you think and if you make some, I would love to see, so post a pic in the comments below.
Materials:
Yellow Oven Bake Clay
cheap ear buds
pencil or pen
paper
sculpting tools (optional)
exacto knife
rubber duck (the model for the other duck)
cutting mat

Step 1: Tracing the Ear Buds

FIrst thing you want to do is trace the back of the ear bud so you know how small the duck should be.

Step 2: Drawing the Duck

Once you have the ear bud traced you are going to want to draw the duck on top of the ear bud.

Step 3: Cutting Out the Duck

When the duck is drawn you want to cut out the duck drawing.

Step 4: Clay Duck

You want to get some yellow clay and make it about 1/8 inch thick. Then place the duck cut-out an top of the clay. Use either and exacto knife or a clay cutting tool to cut out the duck shape. Do this twice.

Step 5: Baking the Duck

When the duck looks good to you follow the instructions on the package to bake it.

Step 6: Attaching the Duck to the Ear Buds

Use hot glue to attach the duck to the ear bud. Don't use alot because you might melt the plastic and break the ear buds. I realized later that I should have used velcro so I could switch out the clay pieces.

Step 7: Draw Eyes and Beak

Get a thin marker and draw eyes and a beak.

Step 8: Rock Out

Put them in your ears and rock out.
