Introduction: Daves Awesome Hot Chocolate
My hot chocolate is awesome. I know this because everyone that has ever tasted it has said so.
This recipe took me about a week of tasty trial and error to create. I set out to create an ultimate hot chocolate recipe.
I succeeded.
It's awesome in kind of a romantic way. It wants to take you out on a date and be a gentleman. It wants to buy you roses and lay you down by the fire. It's hot hot chocolate is what I'm trying to say. It is both literally and figuratively hot chocolate.
Here is what you will need. Be warned! This is the ultimate hot chocolate. Therefore altering it will, by definition, be a lesser form of hot chocolate. If you make this hot hot chocolate recipe and you alter it I cannot be held responsible for the disappointment you will feel.

- A double boiler
- Hand blender
- 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 + 1/16 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup white chocolate chips
- 5 cups of organic whole milk
Step 1: Warm Up the Milk
You want the milk to be nice and ready to accept Hot Chocolating. Cold milk cannot be hot chocolate, so get it nice and warm. Just a little steamy.
Cooking milk will cause it to form a film on top. You don't want that film so as soon as it starts to form, take it off.
While that's warming up, move on to the next step.

Step 2: Double Boil You Some Hotness
Put the chocolate chips and spices into the double boiler. Start double boilin'.
You just want to melt the chocolate. While it's melting, stir it a little bit.

Step 3: Scrape the Hot Chocolate Into the Warm Milk
This is the best part.
Combine the melted chocolate with the warmed milk and use the hand blender to mix it together thoroughly.
Serve with two marshmallows per cup of hot chocolate.
