Card games are a fun way to relax, but sometimes holding on to the cards can be a challenge for little kids. With their small hands holding on to all the cards can sometimes be harder than the game itself. So as a Christmas gift to one of the younger members of my family I made a card holder that can handle being thrown across the room in a fit of temper and still look decent.

Step 1: What You Need:

- 1/8 inch hardboard
- Rough and fine grit sandpaper
- A 3/4 inch binder clip
- Coping saw

Step 2: Layout

- Draw two semicircles on the wood; one 5.5 inches wide and 3 inches tall at the center and on 4.5 inches wide and 2.5 inches tall at the center

Step 3: Cutting, Sanding & Testing

- Use the coping saw to cut out the two semicircles
- Use the sandpaper on the edges, then the front and back of each piece
- Attach them together with the binder clip
- Try to slip a card into the card holder; if it is too tight use some pliers to bend the jaws of the clip outwards

Step 4: Finishing Up

- Now is the time to paint, engrave, burn or do whatever else you want to personalize the card holder
- When everything else is done center the small semicircle in the big semicircle and clip them together in the middle
- Remove the binder clip arms by squeezing them and pulling them off
