Introduction: Easy DIY Match Head Rocket.

About: 14 years old, I'm an actor, singer, dancer and movie maker. (Stop motion animation, short films, etc.) I have worked with many theatres in the Seattle area including Seattle Musical Theatre (Sweeney Todd) Seat…

This is a simple little match head rocket that, if made properly, can go up to 5 or 6 feet up. (I know, not that far...) But it is fun, none the less, and can be made easily and quickly. Sorry if some of the pictures are out of focus, I had some trouble with my broken camera :-/ (This is also my first Instructable) Please comment if the file did not work for you, it is a video of me lighting and 'firing' one of the rockets that I made. Anyway!

What you will need: 3 or 4 matches, a piece of tinfoil, and a working brain. :-p

Step 1:

First, take two matches and put the heads together on a small piece of tinfoil. (As shown)

Step 2:

Next, take your index finger and thumb and roll the matches up in the tinfoil. It should look like the second picture. Note: never twist the tinfoil once it is on the matches, this will make it just burn off.

Step 3:

Next, slide one of the matches carefully out and then back in. This makes it able to fly, instead of making a cloud of smoke. Make sure that the other match is securely in the tinfoil.

Step 4:

Now find a place to stick the rocket in, making sure that the somewhat loose match is on top.

Step 5:

Now take a lit match and hold it right under the tinfoil. (Hold it a little closer to the tinfoil than I did) :-p

And you are done! Yay! Please comment and vote! Thanks!!!
