Introduction: Fix Hoodie Drawstring

About: I love DIY projects and I'm getting interested in up-cycling. I'm a 3d modeler and graphic designer and enjoy crafts of all types.

Its happened to all of us we wash our favorite hoodie and when it comes out of the dryer the drawstring is missing. Here's a quick (5min) way to fix it.

Step 1:

What you'll need:

a length of twine at least as long as the drawstring (I used hemp string as that's what I had, but any type will do)
a medium length zip tie
your hoodie
your hoodie drawstring

Step 2:

Make a loop  in the end of the zip tie.
Tie the twine to the loop (like a needle and thread).

**as a side note the reason I didn't just attach the zip tie to the drawstring is I didn't want to make the drawstring holes any bigger by pushing large knots through and the twine is a bit easier to move through the hood.

Step 3:

Feed the "needle" through one hole.
Continue to feed the "needle" through scrunching the hoodie up on to the needle then straightening it out to advance the "needle" until you get to the other side.

Step 4:

Tie the other end of the twine to the hoodie drawstring. (Make the knot tight enough that it wont slip off but loose enough that you can untie the twine when you're done.)
Feed the tip of the drawstring through the first hole.

Step 5:

Put the twine and the drawstring through the hood.
Untie the twine (or cut it carefully) and you are done. Congratulations your hoodie is restored :)

**May I suggest tying a knot or double knot in the end of the drawstring to help prevent a relapse. Or invest in some cheap toggles.
