Introduction: Floppy Disk Greeting Card

Need a greeting card for that special geeky someone? I have just the solution with the floppy disk greeting card!

Step 1: Supplies

You will need:
Hammer and a slightly large screwdriver (or drill)
old 3.5 floppy
string
paper and scissors
pencil
some sort of glue

Step 2: Open Floppy Disk

To open the floppy disk, pry the two plastic parts away from each other. Do not pull on the metal part, as we will use that later. Once is taken apart, you will have 3 major parts. The first and second plastic parts, one of which houses the actual disk, and the metal part.

Step 3: Make a Hole

As you can see in the first picture, there is a closed hole next to an open hole. We need to open the closed hole so both holes are open. Take your hammer and screwdriver/drill and open that hole! I already opened it when I took the picture, so it looks half open half closed.

Step 4: Make Your Note

Now take the black circular disk and trace it twice on the paper. Cut them out and write the first page's note on one and the other page's note on the other.

Step 5: Glue Notes On

Now to glue the words on. How simple can it get?

Step 6: Put Metal Back On

Remember that metal piece we saved? Put it to use as a decoration! Cut the top so there are two pieces, as shown in first picture. Now glue them on so the plastic shows through the little window, not the hole.

Step 7: Tie Pieces Together

Now cut a piece of string about how long the picture says and tie the holes together.

Step 8: Put in Envelope and Give!

Now you're ready to give it to somebody! Just look at their reaction when you give them a floppy disk for their birthday!
