Introduction: Food Supplements Chart

About: I have many different interests, and one of them is building, fixing, bossing others around and travelling. Here are some things that I have done.

I'll be the first to admit that I don't always eat the healthiest, and I am always running around grabbing food here and there. I am also quite active, and like to workout when I have free time.

In order to be able to do all of these things that I like I decided that I needed to organize my supplements, yes there are quite a few, in order to better optimize my absorption of them throughout the day and night.

After having worked in a health food store for over a year, reading about supplements and reading much of the "Prescription for Nutritional Healing" (link: http://www.prescriptionfornutritionalhealing.net/ ) I figured out what supplements work for me and when they do or it suits me best to take them.

I am horrible at remembering this kind of thing. Even when I had antibiotics to take I forgot about them. So I decided to do this to help me keep track.

Step 1: Reading the Labels

The first step, after doing your research is to read the labels again and again.

Then, you can start writing down the quantities and frequencies of ingestion that work for you, and that your doctor might have recommended.

Example:

Gingko Biloba (100mg): 1/day with water or something of the sort.

Purple K (Creatine): 2 before workout, and 2 after workout.

Etc.

Make sure that if your stomach hurts, that you adjust what you take your supplement with or when you take it. Some, for example, are not good to take before going to bed, or too late in the afternoon, Etc.

Step 2: Make a Spreadsheet

I like using google docs for most of my things, mixed in with Evernote at times so it seemed normal to make my spreadsheet with it.

On top write down the times of the day that you associate most with

On the left the name of the supplement

Now, where the rows and the columns intersect when you want to take a supplement, write down the quantity.

Not in the picture are the notes I put in the last column to the right. They say take with water/food etc,

DISCLAIMER: I am by no means a medical professional. I am an amateur at best, this is merely a method of organizing ones schedule, supplements and life so that they can keep on top of things and stop worrying about when to take what and how much of it.

Thank you very much and happy living!
