For those who stayed thats my instructable on how to dip flowers in cement. In this in instructable we will be making a mold and casting multiple stone sculptures.

Supplies

A idea
Clay
100% silicone caulk
Mineral spirits
Food coloring
Plastic scrap
A SPATULAR
And cement

Step 1: Gathering Things

First I have no idea why my images are upside-down

Sit an figure what you would like to mold im going to use my most recent sculpt of a black rain frog . Once you have a idea sculpt it ,keeping in mind that you will be covering this with a silicone mold later. Thin parts and limbs easily break so its best to keep it simple at first .

Step 2: Done Play With Clay

Once you've made your sculpture place it on a scrap piece of pvc or plastic and hot glue it down and use other plastic scrap pieces to form a mold box hot gluing them together and onto the base. Nice thing about pvc is that silicone and the hot glue peel off easily making the mold box reusable.

Step 3: Mixing Silicone

this is not a very structured recipe that i use i squeeze the amount i think im going to use the pour a puddle if mineral spirits and a few drops of food coloring and mix i add more mineral spirits till i reach the thinness of honey

If you would like to lean more about the silicone method i learned it from this instructable https://www.instructables.com/How-To-Make-Your-Own-Sugru-Substitute/

Step 4: Pour It On

So this is when you pour in the silicone. Use your spatula to push the silicone in all the nooks and crannys it cures fairly quickly and smells heavy of ammonia so do this outside our in a well ventilated room. I usually pour a silicone mold in several coats changing colors each layer so I don't leave and thin spots.

Step 5: Make Up the Concrete

Here is where you mix the concrete i us a one part to 1 and a half ish for molds . You want to sprinkle the mix on the water till it starts to float little islands on to then its ready to mix and pour.always mix at the bottom helps with bubbles.

Step 6: Finish Er Up

Once the concrete is hard peel and pop it out of the mold. Clean up the excess over pour and paint it with your choice of paints. Sell them give them away or leave them all over town like I have. Have fun and enjoy
