Introduction: Good Game to Play

Red Dead Redemption is actually certainly the best Western
themed video game I've ever before played, and also one of the very best video games to come down the pipe in quite some time.

The game play is pretty spot-on. Dealing with a gun feels 'best'. I don't think anyone has made horseback riding within a computer game feel so real. The scenery is incredible and is a huge part of the story-telling itself. Anyone can use along for hours and just absorb the environment and better understand the people that inhabit the world for it. Certainly there are tons of optional accomplishments to be had as well.

Though it's the story and acting that will push RDR merely being a great game and one of the best games of all time. This’d unusual that a game is so effective in tackling meta-themes like crime, government, morality, etc. within such an authentic way that feels so immediate and relevant without having being ham-fisted or preachy. In many ways RDR rivals the equally wonderful game Bioshock in terms of story-telling, but RDR ups the ante by giving us a world of reasonable, well written, and also well performed characters.

In case certainly there's one area were RDR stumbles a little bit it's in the optional side-quests. Certainly there are a small number of fun mini-games that you can partake in. Sadly these video games get repetitive fairly rapidly as there just isn't really much variety to be had there. Still, the mini-games are fun, and also apart from loot and reputation accomplishments, there's no requirement to engage in them unless you're a completions or truly enjoy them.

Undead Nightmare is an appreciated follow-up to the main course. This's not provided that the original story line, but it's a good deal of fun, and frankly more difficult from a game play perspective. Given the restrictions of Undead Nightmare anyone'll likely find you have to take a various approach than the one you've probably taken in your play through of RDR. That change of pace creates Undead Nightmare much more of a value IMO. Although I could see how a few individuals may get frustrated by it.

The very best compliment I can pay RDR is actually that its lead character, John Marston, should have a place in the pantheon of great Western characters in each of fiction. Rockstar has done an outstanding job here, and I really hope we'll obtain some kind of sequel or prequel down the road.
