I'm really sorry, but I can't show pictures in the steps, because this was a graded in class only school assignment and well..no phones in class (my teacher let us take pictures of the final project). The assignment was to create an original design on a cupcake and whoever's cupcakes looked the best won (basically it was a lot like cupcake wars). These cupcakes won best in my class, and we haven't found out who won the best out of the three classes. We were timed one hour to get at least two cupcakes that we made the previous day decorated and taken to be judged. Everyone that I worked with was really impressed with how these turned out, and I hope you like them!

Step 1: Gather Supplies

You will need: 1)At least one batch of already made cupcakes(as many cupcakes as you want, but this is a long process, so I suggest that you only do this to one or two of your cupcakes unless you have a lot of time, because each hand took us about half the class to make),2)one tub of chocolate frosting, 3)Hershey's chocolate bars(mini), 4)tootsie rolls(orange, green and pink would look best), 5)the pumpkin candy shown, 6)one tube of green frosting, and 7)red food coloring.

Step 2: Prepare Oreos

(It's ok to do the next steps out of order, if you want, but this is how we did ours).Place about six Oreos into a bowl and mash the Oreos until they look like dirt (a few small chunks here and there is ok).We found that the best way to do this was to generously crush the Oreos a few times with a butter knife, then to crush the remaining pieces with a cup, but do whatever works for you.

Step 3: Frost the Cupcakes

Use a butter knife and the chocolate frosting to get the base frosting on the cupcake, then lightly sprinkle the "oreo dust" onto the cupcakes (this works best if you only sprinkle the "dust" in the center of the cupcake, because we found that the green frosting doesn't stick to the Oreo). After you have finished this, lightly squirt the green tube of frosting onto the edges of the cupcake.

Step 4: Create Hands and Gravestone

Creating the hands is the longest and hardest process of the cupcake, so if you do it, you will feel REALLY accomplished after you finish. So first, you need about five to seven colored tootsie rolls (if you can, use either green, orange, brown or both for the hand part, orange or pink for the nails and pink for the vein). Warm them up in the microwave only for a couple of seconds, until they're slightly squishy, and not hard. Then, using your best artistic skills, form them into four fingers and a hand and arm. Then,(using a different color) cut off very small pieces of tootsie roll and form nails on each of the fingers. Finally, cut off one last small piece (of a different color)and place it on the lower part of the hand so that it looks like blood, or a vein. After you have done this process for as many cupcakes as you desire, select one mini Hershey bar and splatter red food coloring on it, to look like blood. Repeat this process as many times as you want,

Step 5: Apply the Hand and Gravestone to the Cupcake

Grab your frosted cupcake, your gravestone, a butter knife, the green frosting, the remaining bits of "Oreo dust", and your hand. GENTLY AND CAREFULLY cut a hole in the top of your cupcake where you want the gravestone to be and place the gravestone in it. Then, to make double sure that it doesn't fall, squirt a little bit of green frosting on the back so that it is secure in place. Then place your hand on the center of your cupcake, and sprinkle a little bit of Oreo onto the arm, so that it looks like the hand is rising from the grave.
