Introduction: High-throughput HEPA Air Purifier

This is a very simple to make High-throughput True HEPA purifier.

You will need

  • Hot Glue

Step 1: Gather All Parts & Putting It Together

Prep the filter

If your cylinder filter has a through hole, cover it up with a cardboard disk cutout or tape it shut.

Double the flow
You can stack your through hole filters for greater air through put.
Just stack them and glue them together and make sure one end is covered.

How to pick your filter
The inner diameter of the filter should be about about +/- 1inch of the air intake inlet. Mine has about 4 inches inner and 6.5 inch outer diameter on the filter, the 6.5 on the fan intake.

Pick your fan

High Velocity Blower Fan has different names when you buy them online. You can user search term such as

  • Floor Fan
  • Dryer
  • Blower Fan
  • Industrial Fan
  • Air Blower

Glue and done!
If you pick the right diameter to match the fan inlet and filter outer rim, you can easily hot glue the sides together. Here I only use 4 dots of high strength hot glue, but making sure it's cool before tilting it right side up.

Step 2: Enjoy the Clean Air

I used Dyson's air monitors to check the air quality.

With Dyson off and the DIY air purifier on, the particle count gets down to 0-3μg/m3 for a large room.
