Introduction: 'Holey' Jack-O-Lantern!

This is my 3 year old daughter Meaghan with the finished product. :)

This is a new twist on an old tradition, this Instructable will show you how to create a 'Holey' Jack-O-Lantern for Halloween.

Here is what you need.

Tools:
1/2 inch drill bit
Drill
Bottle brush

Parts:
Pumpkin
Tea Light

Step 1: The Perfect Pumpkin

Select a nice large pumpkin. Any size will do really.

Step 2: Clean It Out!

Cut the top out of the pumpkin being careful to make the cuts at an angle so the top won't fall straight through once you've cut the entire circle. Clean out the inside of the pumpkin. Save the seeds if you like to bake fresh pumpkin seeds for a healthy snack.

Step 3: Drill It!

Using a drill with a 1/2 inch drill bit, start at the top of the pumpkin and drill holes about a half inch apart all the way around

Step 4: Flip It

When you get half way down the pumpkin, flip it over to make it easier to finish drilling holes in the rest of the pumpkin.

Step 5: Clean It

After drilling, scrape the inside of the pumpkin with a spoon or other "pumpkin scraping tool" to get all the loose pulp out from the drilling.  If you want to be very thorough, use a bottle brush to clean out the holes of any extra pumpkin pulp and then remove all pulp from inside the pumpkin.

Step 6: Light It

Place a tea light candle (or some other source of light) into the pumpkin, light and enjoy your Holey Pumpkin!
