ok, i got sick of seeing all these arisoft silencers online for like $50, and they really dont make your gun much quieter, so i decided to make a $4 silencer that works just as well as the $50 ones. Granted it doesn't look as good as the ones online, but for my uses it works fine. This is my first instructable, so sorry if i don't get it exactly right.

Step 1: Materials

heres what you need:

Materials:
1 water bottle*
1- 1 foot length of 2in pvc
1- 1 foot length of 3/4in pvc
1 hose clamp, just big enough to fit over the neck of the bottle
cloth or old rags
paint (optional, but you really should paint it)

*Giant Eagle brand purified water. (i dont know if any others will work)

Tools:
razor knife (be careful)
drill,
#7 or #9 drill bit (i think)
tin snips
hack saw (not pictured)
vice (to hold pvc)
screw driver (for installing)

Step 2: Cut the Water Bottle

Ok, using the razor knife, cut the label off of the water bottle. Then, cut the bottom off of the bottle, be really careful, it's easy to cut yourself. Then, insert the 2in pvc pipe as far as it can go and mark it at the end of the bottle. The pipe should fit very tightly, and you might have some trouble getting it to fit.

Step 3: Cut the PVC

Use the hack saw to cut the pipe where you marked it. I advise using a vice to hold the pipe in place.

Step 4: Cut 3/4 PVC

After that, measure the 3/4 pvc inside the bottle, it should come to about 3/4 of an inch to 1 inch from the inside of the neck, and should be flush with the end of the 2 inch pvc. Mark it and cut it.

Step 5: Drill Holes

Ok, this part probably takes the longest. Take the 3/4 pvc section that you just cut and put it in a vice, then drill holes through it at all angles, so that it looks like a hair curler.

Step 6: Wrap the 3/4 PVC

Wrap the piecs of pipe that you just drilled holes in with your cloth, I used old rags. Make sure that it can fit snuggly into the 2 inch pvc, and that the cloth doesn't cover either end. You may have to cut of rip it to get it to fit.

Step 7: Insert 3/4 Into 2

Insert the wrapped pipe into the 2 inch pipe, try to center it. If it is closer to one side, then wrap more cloth around the low side, or take some away from the high side.

Step 8: Cut Neck

The flash hider on my gun was too big for the bottle to fit over, so I cut the bottle so that it would fit. It was still tight, but it worked.

Step 9: Add Hose Clamp and Install

Put the hose clamp on the spirals on the neck, then slide onto the flash hider of your gun and tighten the clamp. How you paint it is up to you. I hope my instructible was useful to anyone interested.
