How to Get a Firearm License in Massachusetts

In this video I explain the process of getting a firearm license in the state of Massachusetts.  There are 3 basic types of licenses.  Class A, Class B and the FID Card, however 2 of them can be restricted so there are effectively 5 different types of licenses.  To learn more about the different types of licenses click here.  Each town in Massachusetts can have it's on variation of the application process so you need to check with your local police station and either pick up or download the application locally.

Step 1: Take the basic safety course or hunter education course
Step 2: Get the application from your local police department
Step 3: Submit the application to your local police department
Step 4: Get your fingerprints and picture taken
Step 5: Pick up your license
Step 6: Renew your license every 5 years on your birthday
Step 7: If you move fill out the change of address form and send it in to all three parties involved
