Introduction: How to Make Double Chocolate Bread

In this easy instructable, I will show you how to make Double Chocolate Bread.

Step 1: ​Ingredients

Ingredients
2/3 c packed light brown sugar

1/2 c butter, softened

2 c semi sweet choc chips divided

2 eggs

2 1/2 c all purpose flour

1 1/2 c applesauce

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 1/2 tsp vanilla

for the glaze 1/2 c choc chips

1 tbsp shortening

Step 2: Mix It Up

Using an electric mixer, combine the butter and sugar until they are creamy.

Step 3: Melt That Chocolate

Melt 1/2 of the chocolate chips (1 c) using a double broiler, heat resistant bowl on top of a boiling pot of water or the microwave.

Step 4: Back to the Mixer

Now add the melted chocolate and eggs to your sugar mixture and mix thoroughly.

Step 5: Bring Some More Stuff In

Now bring in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, applesauce and vanilla and mix until combined.

Step 6: Stir in the Chips

Using a spoon, mix in the other 1 c of chocolate chips.

Step 7: Almost Time!

Spray your bread pan with non-stick cooking spray and fill each one about 3/4 of the way.

Step 8: Bake!

For the mini loaves, bake about 35 minutes, if it's just a larger bread pan, it's going to take about 45 minutes. Bake at 350° until the center is completely done.

Step 9: Glaze

The same way you melted the chocolate before, do it again with the other cup of chocolate chips and the shortening combined.

Step 10: Top If Off

Drizzle the melted chocolate on each loaf.

Step 11: Enjoy!
