Introduction: How to Make Schnitzel

I show how to make schnitzel. I used pork tenderloin as the meat but various other meats can be used to make it, such as veal, mutton, chicken, beef, or turkey. Whatever meat you are using it is prepared the same way. Many people associate Schnitzel with Wiener schnitzel. “Wiener schnitzel” is actually a geographically protected term in Germany and Austria and can only be made with veal. The only difference is German Schnitzel is made with pork instead of veal. Schnitzel is traditionally served with Spätzle and gravy, Pommes (fries), or Kartoffelsalat (German vinegar-based potato salad). Additionally, it’s usually served with a leafy green salad. It is pretty easy to make and only requires a few basic ingredients.

A schnitzel is a boneless meat, thinned with a meat tenderizer, coated with flour, beaten eggs and bread crumbs, and then fried. A popular food in many countries, it is made from veal, mutton, chicken, beef, turkey, or pork.
