Introduction: How to Make a Level Necklace

About: I love to sew, as I'm sure you can see from my ibles ;) I also love lawn flamingos, going to the beach, dinosaurs, and doing random stuff.

I made a level necklace not too long ago and I finally got around to making an Instructable about it.

Step 1: Supplies

You won't really need very many things for this, just some wire, a level, a pair of jewelry pliers or needle nose pliers, and some epoxy. The epoxy is optional, but I highly suggest you use some if the part of the level you use doesn't have a lip on the bottom to keep it from falling out the bottom of the wire.

Step 2: First Things First

First of all, you'll need to take apart the level. It's best if you have a plastic one, instead of a metal one because usually the plastic ones are made in two parts and the metal ones have circles in them. So anyway take apart the level.

Now cut a piece of wire about 6 inches long. The length you'll need will vary, since the level I used was pretty small.

Make a loop at one end of the piece of wire that goes around the bottom of the level thing. Be sure to wrap wire around the loop a bit so that it doesn't come undone.

Step 3: ...

Hold the loop at the bottom of the level thing and wrap it up around it. It's good to wrap the wire around the top once so it doesn't come off when you go to make the loops and stuff.

So once you've got it wrapped around the top make a loop and bend it over so it's flat on top of the level thing.

Step 4: You're Almost Done Now

So since there's a loop holding the wire to the top of the level thing you'll need one for it to hang from on the necklace. Make another loop and cut off the end of the wire so that it's touching the top of the level thing.

To help keep the wire around it you can slip the level thing almost out of the wire epoxy on the bottom of it where the wire will touch and then on the very top where the first loop goes.

Step 5: And You're Done

You're done! Now you can put it on a necklace. Or even a bracelet or earrings.

If you have questions just ask, and it would be awesome to see pictures if you make one of these :D
