In this Instructable I will teach you how to make a guitar. Plz be nice it is my first instructable.

Step 1: Materials

For this instructable you will need the following things...
. 36 by 17 inches styrofoam
. paint of your option
. pencil and eraser
. black marker
. sharp knife
. 6 1/2 inch nails
. 3 thick and 3 thin elastic bands

Step 2: Step 1

On your 36 by 17 inches piece of styrofoam draw a shape of a guitar with a pencil. Then outline the shape with a black marker to help you see the shape better.outline the whole guitar until you can see it clearly. After you outline it take your knife and start cutting it.I'd prefer putting a piece of wood under it so you dont cut anything on the floor or carpet.Cut the guitar very slowly so you don't end up cutting yourself. You should have an adult nearby when you are cutting. After your done cutting the shape just cut out the big chunks on the sides of the styrofoam. If you need help drawing the shape you can copy mine.

Step 3: Step 2

After your done cutting the styrofoam and make it perfect we move on to the next step which is painting. Personally I like red so I painted mine red but you have your option. When your painting be sure not to get it on your hands or lick it. Try to paint the top and the sides but you could paint the bottom too. After your done painting leave the guitar near somewhere hot or nea a heater. It will take 2-3 hours for the paint to dry off.

Step 4: Step 3

After the paint dries off the guitar we start puttin the nails and rubber bands in place. So one tip for trying to put the nails in place is first try to find the middle of the guitar and place a nail there.Then stretch the rubber band and see how far it goes then when you find the spot,place another nail there and hook the rubber band on to the nails. Like this do the same with all the nails and then hook up the rubber bands to the nails.

Step 5: The Final Step

The final Step of making a guitar is playing it and decorating. To play the guitar make a circle with your thumb and your index finger and run it across the strings.
