Introduction: How to Make a Vernier Caliper Tool in Tinkercad

About: Everything starts with your First Creation : D

The one's who don't know about this amazing tool its called Vernier scale its a measuring device that consists of a main scale with a fixed jaw and a sliding jaw with an attached Vernier. I wanted one for my Aeromodelling work as we need extreme precise measurements even a small difference in change in the dimension of the object can be catastrophic.

Some applications of Vernier calipers are :

  • Science Labs
  • Medical Purposes
  • Steel Industries
  • Aerospace Industries
  • Educational Sectors

Also I have added a few touches of mine in this design so it looks even better than the original.

Supplies

  • 3D printer
  • Tinker

Step 1: Main Scale

  • Take a square from the main bar and make the dimensions as shown above in the image's.
  • Now take a wedge and align it with the main scale as shown above.
  • Now take a cylinder and make the dimensions as shown in the image's.
  • Once done, place the cylinder in the main scale and make a hole in it.

Step 2: Making the Measuring Jaw

  • Now for the measuring jaw take a square and make its dimensions as shown in the images.
  • Now take a wedge and make this as a hole body which will be used as a cutter.
  • Now we will make cuts as shown in above images.

Step 3: Making the Sliding Jaw

  • In this step we will make the sliding jaw, for that we need wedge as shown in a images.
  • Adjust the dimensions of wedge and make cuts in the jaw.
  • Make a duplicate and do the same as we have done in the first jaw.
  • Now for the slider take a square and follow image 7 & 8 .
  • Now we need a base for our two sliders follow image 9 for dimension's.

Step 4: Joining Everything

  • Join the base and the sliders with each other.
  • For the mobility we need a horizontal hook.
  • Take a wedge and a rectangle join them to make a trapezoidal prism and place below the slider for the mobility as shown in above images.

Step 5: Done !!!

  • Now join the sliding jaw with the main scale and we are done.

CONGRATS !!!!! We have made it !!!!

I hope you all enjoyed :D
