In this short but very useful Instructable I show you how to remove limescale in an easy way. I've been using this method for years, I thought everyone knew about it, but this assumption turned out to be wrong when some friends were surprised when I told them about this simple method. So I decided to share this method on Instructables as well!

Supplies

Cleaning vinegar
Brush
Optionally: Gloves

Step 1: Cleaning Vinegar

If possible, disassemble the part to be cleaned. In my case, the end of the tap was easy to unscrew. If this is not possible, you should use a container or bag and let the cleaning vinegar soak in on the spot. With this I have already revealed the next step: Then let the part soak in the cleaning vinegar for half an hour.

Step 2: Just Scrub!

The cleaning vinegar reacts with the limescale, an acid-base reaction is created. This reaction creates new substances: carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O). You cannot see the water. The small bubbles that you see appear after a few minutes are carbon dioxide. After half an hour the reaction has worked out and you (if all is well) no longer see bubbles. What remains of the limescale is some dirt residue.

Remove the part from cleaning and remove the remaining residues with a brush and possibly with some water.
