Introduction: How to Make the Finger in a Box Prank!

About: I am currently attending College of the Desert in Palm Desert, I love to create and talk to people, hopefully we can do one or more of those things together.

In this instructable I will show you how to create the simple finger in a box to freak your friends out with (without actually having to dismember one of your beloved fingers).

Step 1: Supplies

You will need:

- Scissors (or a knife if you can't find any).

- A small box with a lid and cushion inside, usually for jewelry or other expensive items.

- Fake blood.

- Basic make-up palette (optional, but recommended).

Step 2: Cut a Hole in the Box.

Remove the lid and foam from the box. Cut a hole in the bottom (to one side or the other) of the box a little bigger that your index finger (do not cut off your finger).

Step 3: Cut a Hole in the Foam.

Replace foam back in box. Push thumb into foam so that it sticks out of the previously cut finger hole and cut away the protruding foam (it's a good idea not to cut off your thumb either).

Step 4: Add Blood.

Add some blood for that gruesome dismembered finger look.

Step 5: The Prank.

Stick your finger in the hole hold like shown in the picture and put the lid on. Tell the prankee (with a serious face) your Dad works at a construction site etc. Ask them to touch the finger and then when they get close wiggle your finger. Works especially well on little kids.

Step 6: Going the Extra Mile.

If you want to make it seem really realistic you will need (the optional) basic make-up palette and a make-up sponge applicator. First take a dab of green and smear it over the part of the finger that will be in the box. Then take a little purple and repeat process. Finally take some black and put it on your finger nail smearing as necessary to get that dead look.
