Introduction: How to Run Star Wars Galaxies Without Hardware T&L

Ever wanted to play Star Wars Galaxies on your netbook? Yes, it runs almost perfectly on the lowest settings on my netbook (Acer Aspire One). However, this Instructable is not just limited to netbooks, this could be used on desktops, laptops, and old junk computers, just make sure they meet the minimum system requirements.

Step 1: Requirements

1. Windows XP (This is important, does not work for vista or Windows 7 unless you can get 1024x768 resolution.)
2. 3d analyze-v2.36 (Here)
3. At least the minimum system requirements for Star Wars Galaxies, Excluding the Hardware T&L. (Here)
4. Star Wars Galaxies The Complete Online Adventure Disk ( I borrowed mine from a friend). You may be able to find a torrent. I have not tried this with the download-able station launcher.
5. A Star War Galaxies account, a trial account will work too.

Step 2: Step 1: Setting the Resolution to 1024x768

This step is for Netbooks with screen resolution lower than 1024x768. If you have this resolution or higher you can skip this step.

Right click on the desktop and click Properties. Now click the settings tab > advanced >  Monitor tab.
Under the screen refresh rate select box, there is a box that you can toggle that says "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display." make sure this is off. Now click ok,  now set the resolution to 1024x768. And that finishes this step. You can revisit this later on if you want to get a higher resolution. Note: This extends the desktop beyond the monitor, you scroll the screen by moving your mouse toward the direction your want to scroll.

Step 3: 3D Analyze Preparation

Now that we have a screen resolution of 1024x768, now we need to download 3d analyze-v2.36.
After that, we need to extract it, for this guide I will say that we extracted it to "C:/Temp/3DA"
Now make sure that Star Wars Galaxies is installed. For this guide the install path is "C:/Program Files/StarWarsGalaxies" When you installed Starwars Galaxies, it should have put an icon on the desktop. Right click on that and go to properties. Go to the Shortcut tab. In that target area it should say something similar to ""C:\Program Files\Sony\Station\Launchpad\LaunchPad.exe" /game:starwars". Now go to your Starwars Galaxies folder and create "SWG.bat" and right click it and press edit. Now paste whatever you found in the target box, save it and close it.
That is all for this step.

Step 4: Using 3D Analyze

Now go to C:/Temp/3DA where you install the program. and run 3DAnalyze.exe.

Click Select then navigate to the folder where you put the .bat file. but first Make sure it says "Batch Files" After "Files of type:" Now click 4 boxes, "Force SW TnL", "Emulate HW TnL caps", "Emulate cube maps", and "Performance Mode".After that click the "Save Batch File!" button and save that file to the desktop and name it "Starwars Galaxies".

Step 5: Your Done!

Now just launch that shortcut you made on the desktop login and everything should work. If not feel free to pm me or comment. Thanks for reading my first Instructable.
Note: you must keep 3DAnaylze where it is otherwise it will cease to work. And if it is slow try turning the graphics settings lower.
