This fun 100 percent warmy wool scarf is upcyled from a pair of wool pants - how fun is that? The textured, imPRESSionable accents are made from interesting, easy to find "things"!

Step 1: Materials Needed

100 percent wool pants
Scissors (not shown)
Rotary cutter and mat (optional and not shown)
Sewing machine (not shown)
Rubber bands
Fun objects
Washing machine, detergent, and dryer (not shown)

Step 2: Deconstruct, Cut, and Sew

Deconstruct the pants - keeping the largest amount of fabric possible. Use scissors to cut apart the major seams. Remove and either discard, or save for another project, the lining, buttons, and zipper.

These were size 16 pants - I cut two 7" x 32" and one 7" x 28" strips of fabric (there were holes - maybe moth holes? - which obviously limited the amount of available fabric).

Zigzag the three strips of fabric together to create one long piece of material / scarf.

Step 3: Add ImPRESSionalbe Fun Objects!

I added marbles, beads, and keyboard tiles to the each edge of the scarf with rubber bands. Anything can be added - and actually throughout the entire length of the scarf if you so choose -- be creative!

I strived to be consistent - but, what the heck, it doesn't matter! Have fun!

Step 4: Wash and Dry (Felt)

Wash the fabric with detergent in hot water in your washing machine to "felt" the wool. Dry the fabric in the dryer on your low setting. I place the item to be felted in a pillowcase and tie the pillowcase closed with a knot. If the fabric comes out a bit wrinkled, iron on the wrong side with a press cloth; use steam and the wool setting.

Step 5: Ta-Da

Yeah! All done! Remove rubber bands and objects - may need ironing.

Very impressionable - right! The impressions are there to stay - they have been felted.

Optional enhancements: cut a wavy edge around the length of scarf and/or cut out circles in scarf (won't ravel as it is wool!).
