Introduction: Knex Blunderbuss/Ping-pong Ball Shooter

A pretty easy-to-build blunderbuss/ping-pong ball shooter with a new type of trigger-
my first instructable, comment what you think

Step 1: Build the Barrel

The barrel has two rubber bands on the white pieces, across the top and to the other side. You'll see what these are for later.

Step 2: Build the Handle

This is a very simple handle. You can construct your own, the only parts that are really important are the red connectors on top and the hinges on the bottom.

Step 3: Build the Trigger

The trigger uses the track pieces from the roller coaster sets.
They also come in most Knex tubs.

Step 4: The Firing Mechanism

The mechanism that fires whatever you put in the barrel.
You don't need anything to hold the gear on, it should be snug.

Step 5: Attaching the Barrel to the Firing Mechanism

Make sure the barrel has the side without the white piece on top. Then the green rods attach to the white connector in front.

Step 6: Putting It All Together

Taking off one of the red connectors makes it easier to attach the trigger.

Step 7: Bracing the Barrel

Just a little extra support.

Step 8: Finishing the Barrel

This step is NOT NECESSARY, it simply helps the ammo you're shooting go straighter. Make sure the tube is inside all four red connectors in the barrel.

Step 9: Cocking and Firing

Just pull the gray connector on the firing rod back, clip the trigger over the gray connector, load the ping-pong ball, and pull the trigger back to FIRE!

This can shoot almost anytthing you put in the barrel.

WARNING: The gear on the end of the firing rod can come off sometimes. Don't clip something on the end of the rod to keep it from flying off, because then the rod is not flat.
