Ontwerp en knutsel een zachte, lichtgevende knuffel van wol, vilt en elektronica. Dit heb je nodig: 38 cm dun meer dradig elektriciteit draad, 1x LED-lichtje, 1x 3V knoopcel batterij, duct tape, 2 stukjes aluminium folie, viltwol vilt, warm water, groene zeep, schaar, striptang en meetlint.

Design and tinkel a soft, light-emitting stuffed toy made of wool, felt and electronics. Step 1: Knip the Draden - Cutting the Wires

Pak de schaar, het meetlint en de elektriciteitsdraad. Knip 1 rode draad van 8 cm, een rode draad van 15 cm en een witte draad van 15 cm. Strip aan elke kant van de draden 1 cm van de uiteinden. Dit doe je bij ieder draadje. Gebruik bij voorkeur een striptang.

Take the scissors, measuring tape and electricity wire. Cut one red wire of 8 cm long, a red one of 15 cm en a white one of 15 cm. Strip one cm of all end of all the wires. Use the stripping pliers to do this.

Step 2: LED En Batterij - LED Light and Battery

Neem de rode korte draad, de witte lange en het LED-lampje. Buig de pootjes van het lampje 90 graden naar buiten. Wikkel de draad om de pootjes en buig deze naar boven. Pak de kleine stukjes tape en wikkel ze om de pootjes.

Leg de lange rode draad op de tape, leg de batterij met de plus-zijde hier op, op de bovenkant van de batterij leg je de korte rode draad die vast zit aan het lampje.

Take the red short wire, the white long one and the LED light. Bend the legs of the light 90 degrees outward. Wind the wire around the legs and bend upward. Get the small pieces of tape and wind the around the legs.

Now put the log red wire on a piece of tape, put the battery with the plus-side on top of it, while placing the short red wire from the LED light op top of the battery.

Step 3: Testing, Testing...

Test of het lampje werkt. Plak alle connecties en de batterij aan elkaar en zorg dat het waterdicht is. Sluit de pootjes van het LED-lampje andersom aan als het lampje niet werkt.

Geef de draadjes een paar voeten met aluminiumfolie. Vouw de aluminiumfolie om de uiteinden van de draad om tot een bolletje. Houd de voetjes tegen elkaar, het lampje gaat branden.

Test the LED light. Tape alle connection and the battery tightly together so that it becomes waterproof. If the light does not work, then wire the legs of the LED light the other way around.

Now make a pair of shoes for the wires with aluminum foil. Bend it around the endings of the wires to form a small ball, if you connect the feet, the light should work.

Step 4: Wol Vilten - Felting the Wool

Spreid de rode wol een beetje uit en leg de batterij + LED-lampje in de rode wol. Vouw de wol eromheen. Sprenkel een beetje water en groene zeep over de wol. Kneed de zeep in de wol tot het schuimt.

Je ziet dat de wolvezels met elkaar verbinden: je hebt nu je eigen viltknuffel gemaakt mét een LED lampje. Versier jouw knuffel verder met oogjes, een hoedje of een jurkje!

Spread the wool a little bit and place the battery with the LED light in the red wool. Fold the wool around. Put some water and soft soap on the wool. Mold the soap in the wool until it foams.

You will see that the wool fibre will start to connect: you now have a felt stuffed toy with a LED light inside. Now finish your toy with eyes, a hat or a dress, whatever you like!
