Introduction: Let’s Make Love Art. I Made Light Switch Wall Art With DIY Distressed Wood Backer.

About: MyFixitUpLife is a husband-and-wife’s home improvement obsessed lifestyle. Mark and Theresa are constantly fixing something up.

I shop my local Habitat for Humanity ReStore for more than just the deals. I’m there to open my brain to inspiration, like this project with light switches. When I saw a pile of light switches at my local Habitat for Humanity ReStore, I was inspired to make wall art.

Step 1: Add Color

And since I like a quick project, I updated the color of the light switches with spray paint from Krylon in a pretty shade of blue called Bahama Sea.

Step 2: Create the Backer

For the backer, I distressed a piece of wood with a Bernzomatic torch, hammer, and sand paper.

Step 3: Attach the Light Switches

Then attached the painted light switches to the wood with my favorite screws from Spax.

Step 4: What Would You Make?

What would you make with a pile of light switches? I’d love to know. Tweet me, share a comment below, or email is perfection. t
