Introduction: Magnetic Motor

Difficulty of realization 7/10

Step 1: How It Work

This is a new version of Homopolar Motor. Is necessary that the motor is supported on a material that conducts electricity as the tinfoil. By placing the motor on the aluminum foil, the battery is short-circuited and in the aluminum creates an electromagnetic field. This electromagnetic field interacts with the magnetic field of the neodymium magnets moving the motor.

As you can see in my previous Instructable the experiment works fine even if you put aluminum foil on the table, but putting the rotor in aluminum tube eliminates the limit of the size of the road.

Step 2: How It Make

Cut a sheet of aluminum foil of dimensions 11x24 cm and roll it around a can, cut a piece of cardboard of the same size and roll it over the aluminum foil pasting to it.Once the glue dries, remove the cylinder from the can.

I used to make the rotor:
a high quality rechargeable battery
2 Neodymium magnets of 15x4mm with hole
2 Neodymium magnets 20x10 mm

The polarity of the magnets is very important. I try to outline the position.
S-N battery N-S (With this configuration wheel on one side)
N-S battery S-N (With this configuration wheel on the other side)
S-N battery S-N (Do Not work)
N-S battery N-S (Do Not work)
