Introduction: Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups
So my two absolute favorite foods are chocolate and peanut butter and I love reese's peanut butter cups. Naturally, I had to make peanut butter cups at home so I'll always have it in stock. I found a recipe and tweaked it a little. It was really easy to make & it came out so delicious I love it even more than reese's! To answer the four questions: What did you make? I made peanut butter and chocolate cups. It's peanut butter in between two layers of chocolate. I made it with basic ingredients and kitchen appliances. How did you make it? I love reese's peanut butter cups and wanted to make my own peanut butter cups so I will always have it at home. I found a recipe and changed it around a little. I used 2 pots to melt the chocolate instead of a microwave because I don't own one. The recipe also said to melt the peanut butter mixture and wait for it to harden before putting on the top layer of chocolate, but I wanted to make a quick recipe so I didn't. It came out delicious anyway! I made the cups by myself. Where did you make it? I made it at home in my kitchen. I love to make delicious foods and then eat them so I was so happy to make this because chocolate and peanut butter are my favorite foods! What did you learn? I learnt that if you want something you can always make it. I also learnt that I don't always have to follow recipes exactly and they come out great anyway. My biggest challenge was mixing the peanut butter and other ingredients. It didn't have a good texture at first but then I mixed it with my hands and it looked good. I'm also proudest of the peanut butter mixture because it came out so delicious! if I would do it again I would make sure to coat the entire side of the muffin cups with chocolate.
Step 1: Ingredients
-13 mini muffin cups - 5 ounces milk chocolate -1 cup reduced fat creamy peanut butter -1/2 cup powdered sugar -1/4 teaspoon salt You'll also need: -two pots. One must fit into the other one -a mixer and a bowl
Step 2: The Bottom Layer of Chocolate
Put water halfway into the bigger pot and put the smaller pot into it. Put the chocolate in and put it on high flame until it melts. Watch that it doesn't burn. You can also melt it in a microwave. Once it's melted put a little into each muffin cup with a spoon and add a drop more to coat the sides with. Cover the entire inside so when it's done it will look nicer, then put it into the fridge to harden.
Step 3: The Peanut Butter Middle Layer
Mix the peanut butter, powdered sugar, and salt in a medium bowl. I had to mix it with my hands for a minute afterwards to give it a doughy texture. Once the chocolate in the fridge hardened take it and put it on your counter. Put the peanut butter mixture into every cup but make sure not to fill it up till the top because you need to leave room for the chocolate.
Step 4: The Top Chocolate Layer
If your remaining chocolate has hardened remelt it. Then spoon chocolate onto each cup, making sure to cover the top completely. Put it into the fridge again to harden.
Step 5: Enjoy!
Once they've hardened take them out and enjoy your batch of absolute creamy peanut butter and chocolate deliciousness! They should be kept stored in the fridge. I used a mixture of white and brown chocolate to get that light brown color. Ask if you have any questions and please vote for me!
