Introduction: Natural Lip Balm

As Winter inches closer and closer, so does the cold. Nothing worse than being outside in the freezing weather with chapped lips. You already have enough to worry about! Thats why natural, edible, lib balm is the perfect solution! Say goodbye to chapped lips and hello to luxury!

Step 1: Gathering Supplies

First, before we can begin the journey to luxury we will need to gather the necessities to get there. First, you will want all natural Coconut Oil as shown above. You can find Coconut Oil at many of the local grocery stores nearby. Plus, you will want some bees wax. A simple candle will do or a package of wax. Those are the only two ingredients. But, you will want a stove top, and a jelly jar. Make sure the jelly jar or glass jar is durable to heat. In addition, an optional thing to get would be an empty tin preferably an altoids tin.

Step 2: Lets Get Started!

OK now you have your supplies and we can move onto the next steps:

1.) Take some Coconut Oil out with a spoon and place it into your glass jar. I usually take about a cup but it depends on how much you would like to make.

2.) Take the a little less of the bees wax then the Coconut Oil and place that into the jar. I would take 3/4 of a cup of bees wax.

3.) Now, stir of smash the ingredients together until they are somewhat combined. Don't worry if you can't get it all mixed, thats what the stove is for.

4.) Speaking of the stove, take your glass jar and place it into a pot. The pot should have fairly high sides incase the glass tips. Now, turn on the pot to a LOW temperature and continue mixing every so often.

Cautions! Your glass jar could explode if it is not durable! Wear long sleeves and plants and make sure to wear goggles to protect your eyes. If at any point the jar starts to wobble back and forth on the stove turn off the heat immediately. This means it is getting to hot. Always have an adult on hand incase things get out of control!

5.) Eventually, the ingredients should melt together into a nice liquid as shown in the above photo. Once you reach that stage take the jar off and turn off the stove. Be careful! It will be hot!

Step 3: Finishing Touch

Yay! We have our lib balm. If you wish to put it into a container to keep it with you, I would suggest an altoids containers. These are easy to open and get the lip balm out fast. Carefully poor the liquid out while it is hot but not boiling. Then, leave the tin open so the cream can dry. You may also use any other type of container you find around the house. P.S. your lib balm may be edible...depending on the type of wax you used. But, I wouldn't eat to much of it even though it is delicious! Good luck!
