Introduction: Organize Your IC's, Microcontrollers, and Misc Components

Tired of looking up data sheets for every IC when you just need to find one?  Here's a cheap and easy fix.

Step 1: Materials

Use price tags that come with a string attached; these can be found at a university bookstore, office supply store, or just about anywhere. 

I shortened the string to about an inch.  

Step 2: Label and Affix, Done!

I labeled my IC's with:

Front:  Part number
Back:  Description

Loop the string around a pin and stick it into the foam the chip more than likely came in.

If you are using a tube, you can loop around a pin and insert the end cap foam to secure the string. 

You're done!  Now you can dig through your collection with ease!
