Introduction: PVC Blow Gun

I bought some PVC for a projector screen and had some left over. After some thought about something productive I could use it for, I decided to turn it into a blow gun. It didn't cost me anything, but If you had to buy all the materials it would probably be between five and ten dollars. It works surprisingly well, and is fun to play around with, but if you shoot your eye out, don't come knocking on my door.

UPDATE: Go to step four for the updated one.

Step 1: Materials

Gun:

-PVC.
12 feet for 75 cents at home depot. They'll cut it for you.
-Hemp twine.

Darts:

I used this instructable to make the darts.

Step 2: Construction

Pretty basic.
Use the wide end as the mouthpiece, and cut it as long as you want, mine is probably about a foot long.
I wrapped part of it in the hemp twine for a grip, and just used gorilla glue duct tape to hold that in place.

As for the darts, the aforementioned instructable was helpful, but suggestions are welcome, as those darts tend to bend and the yarn used for fletching gets worn out pretty quickly.

Step 3: Use It

Just slide the dart in, and it sits right beneath the mouthpiece.
After a little practice I shot a cigarette pack from about 15 yards, and a popcorn kernel from about 5.

Step 4: UPDATE: 2.0

Gun:
I made a new one. I decided longer was better so I made one that is 30" or 2 1/2' long. I painted it, and the extra length allowed me to add another grip. I also put some Decoupage over the grips to protect them and keep them in place. The extra length allows for the darts to fly faster and straighter, and hit harder.

Darts:
I found that for a "higher caliber" 1 3/8" drywall nails work well. I'd like to sharpen the tips a little more, but I lack a bench grinder or anything of the like. Either way, they work pretty well, and don't bend like the pins do. I also found that if I roll the tips of the yarn in my fingers with some elmers glue, they hold up a lot better after being fired several times.

Any other ideas would be appreciated. I was considering trying to come up with some sort of dart quiver so I could keep the darts on the gun, as well as some sort of sling.
