After a little rust problem with my old sheath I break it and have to make a new one, at first I have to tell my mistake I glued PVC in old sheath with standart PVC glue, not a good Idea because do not seal as good as I want.

Well I had to make a new one and take some photos to make this instructable, I hope you like it...

Luego de algunos problemas de corrosión en mi antiguo estuche de PVC tuve que hacer uno nuevo, mi primer error fue pegarlo con cemento para PVC standart puesto que no sella tan bien como a mi me gusta.

Así que aproveche para tomar algunas fotos y armar esta tutorial, espero les guste...

Step 1: Materials, Materiales

I work with signs and advertising so I take PVC sheet for free at work, is the same used on pipes, but is already plane.

For welding I use solvent cleaning for refrigeration systems, is great because melt PVC and then is totally welded... you can use PVC glue, but this one is too much better and will never break...

PVC sheet have to be same thick than your blade...

Yo trabajo con publicidad y señalizaciones asi que tengo hojas de PVC gratis, es el mismo de los tubos de PVC solo que este está plano.

Para soldarlo uso solvente limpiador para sistemas de refrigeracion, es grandioso porque derrite el PVC y asi queda totalmente soldado, se puede usar pegamento para PVC pero no es tan fuerte, con este quedará mucho mejor puesto que no se romperá...

La hoja de PVC debe ser del mismo espesor de la hoja...

Step 2:

You have to make an stencil for blade and cut 3 pieces of PVCthe midle one have to have the form for you blade can get in and out.

I used a home made plastic cutter and my EDC Knife, but that is up to you

Debes hacer un patrón para la hoja y cortarlo 3 veces, en la pieza del medio debes sacar la forma de la hoja del cuchillo de manera que pueda entrar y salir fácilmente.

Yo usé un cortador de plástico casero y mi cuchillo EDC, pero eso depende de ti y con que sabes trabajar...

Step 3: The Mistake, El Error

For glue PVC with that chemical you have to use a syringe, be carefull because burn the skin, after aply put 2 pieces together and press it with something.

My mistake was used a C-press with a little MDF piece, problem is when I press it the PVC move and get weld twisted, good thing I cut a little bigger the stencil, so I can repair it with grinder....

Para pegar el PVC con este quimico debes usar una jeringa, tener mucho cuidado puesto que quema la piel si te cae, luego de aplicarlo colocas 2 piezas juntas y las presionas con algo.

Mi error fue usar una prensa tipo C y un pedazo de MDF, pero cuando apreté el pvc se torció y asi quedó. Lo bueno es que corté el patron un poco grande y lo puedo reparar con el esmeril...

Step 4: Asembly and Grind, Armar Y Esmerilar

For weld the third piece I used a bench press, I dont wanna twist it again, by the way you have to leave like an hour until plastic is hard again.

Then just grind it with wathever you want, I used a bench grinder, you can use a dremel too.

But at the end always use sand paper to get a smooth finish, not to polish it if you think paint it... I used 280 grain sand paper.

Para pegar la tercera pieza yo usé la prensa de banco, no quería que se torciera de nuevo, por cierto debes dejar secar cada parte al menos una hora, hasta que el plástico se haya endurecido de nuevo.

Entonces solo debes esmerilarlo con lo que sea que tengas, yo usé un esmeril de banco pero un dremel también vendría muy bien.

Al final siempre debes lijar a mano con papel de lija para que quede liso, no debes pulirlo demasiado si piensas pintarlo... Yo usé lija 280.
