This is the pattern I made for a paper dinosaur. For other models and paper art, see Waljoris on Flickr,  Picasaweb, and others.
A template has the advantage that the sculpture can be repeated.  The line art can be copied, enlarged or reduced on scale. Inventing and assembling such a cut-out kit is also as a form of puzzling or even recreational mathematics.
  Working method:
Copy (and eventually enlarge) it on light cardboard in a copy center, or with the printer. You can also use a light box.
All solid lines need to be cut, all broken lines need to be creased. Cutting is done on a cutting matte with a hobby knife or a small scissors. Creasing is done with a dull kitchen knife and a metal ruler. First cut out and crease all the parts. Then try to assemble the model "dry". Only then, when you fully understand the model start gluing it. Apply glue on the tabs with a toothpick. Press the connection with a tweezers (important). Paint as you like.
Attention: for this model the arms need to be folded in mirror-image to each other !
