Here's a great Father's Day craft or a gift for the dude in your life- polymer clay keyfobs! It's pretty easy, too. You'll need clay, an acrylic stamp block, a tissue blade or razor blade, small alphabet stamps and some acrylic paint.

Step 1: Select Your Clay

I used these 3 colors, but you can use whatever you'd like.

Step 2: Chop, Chop!

Take about a 1/2 inch slab of each color and chop it up using your tissue or razor blade. Be careful- this is NOT a step for young kids to do- over 12, only, please! Chop until the pieces are not larger then the size of a pea.

Step 3: Make a Ball

Roll your clay into a ball, squishing all the loose bits together and the air out.

Step 4: Make a Snake!

Remember rolling snakes in Kindergarden? Well, that skill will serve you now. Roll a snake and begin rolling the left side AWAY from you, but the right side TOWARD you. This will make it start to swirl- first, like a candy cane, then, more like stripes.

Step 5: Squish the Snake!

Once you get some nice stripes going on, roll the clay with BOTH hands, pushing towards the middle. This will make the snake roll shorter and make those stripes even more....stripey. Kinda "tiger-y", too, huh?

Step 6: Smash the Snake!

Now cut a 2"inch portion from your snake roll, and, using your acrylic stamping block- or a piece of glass, or even a flat-bottomed jar, SMASH your clay, nice and flat. It should be about 3/8 of an inch thick.

Step 7: Stamp the Initials, Make a Hole

Using your mini alpha stamps, add your beloved's initials. Or don't. You don't have to. It's pretty cool just as it is. But you DO need to add a hold through the top- use a drinking straw. Works like a charm.

Step 8: Bake & Finish

Bake according to the directions on the package and let it cool. If you like, dab some acrylic paint into the stamped areas and gently wipe off the excess with a paper towel. The paint should stay in the impressions and give you a nice contrast. Let it dry completely, then buff it up a bit on a piece of denim. It'll make it shin. Finish with adding a key fob. Pretty sweet.
