Introduction: Salami O'mami

About: Just trying to enjoy life from baking to gardening.

This is a cheesy, salty snack with my favorite ingredient, SALAMI! No oven needed, which is always great. Crispy vegetable cracker with a layer of salami and cheddar cheese and stuffed with a green onion and chives cream cheese mix!

Step 1: Ingredients

Ingredients:

Ritz Crackers (your fav.)
Sliced Salami (your fav.)
Sliced Cheese (your fav.)

Spread:

Cream Cheese 8oz (SOFTENED)
Sour Cream 2 TBSP
Green Onions 1 TBSP + 1 TSP (sliced thin)
Chives 1 TBSP (dry or fresh, sliced thin)
Garlic Salt (sprinkle)
Pepper (dash or two)

Step 2: Green Onions and Chives

Create the yummy delicious spread:

Slice up the green onions and chives thinly. I used dry chives this time. Place them in a medium bowl.

Step 3: Combine the Rest of the Ingredients

Put the cream cheese, sour cream, garlic salt and pepper into the medium bowl with the green onions and chives.

Step 4: Mix All Ingredients

I used a mixer for this step but if you don't have one you can do without. Mix until everything is well blended. Then refrigerate until needed. Don't worry if you forgot to have the cream cheese softened because I forgot. The mixer will work it out for ya.

Step 5: Crackers and Salami

Lay out as many crackers as you want on a plate. I used Ritz roasted vegetable crackers. Now it's time for the SALAMI, I used hard salami. Fold the salami in half and then again until it looks like a triangle. Put the salami on the crackers.

Step 6: Cheese Slicing Time

Take out the sliced cheese, I used mild cheddar cheese, and slice it up to form triangles.

Step 7: Insert the Cheese

Take your slices of cheese and unfold the salami to lay in the cheese. Then just fold the salami back over. The way the salami is sitting on the cracker there will be an opening on top, that is where the spread is going to go. But wait, not yet!!

Step 8: To Melt or Not to Melt?

Now here is the critical part......To me I like my cheese melted. If you do too then just place the plate in the microwave and heat them for 15-20 seconds. Just enough to melt the cheese. If you don't want to no problem, they're good either way!

For a taste test I melted only some of them. You'll find out at the end which way tasted better!

Step 9: Time to Stuff

Take out the spread from the refrigerator. I used a butter knife for this step. Use as much spread as you want. Lift up the top opening of the salami triangle, that we talked about earlier, with your finger. Push the spread from the butter knife into the opening. A little messy when using your finger but you can lick it up. That's it, you're done and now time to enjoy them.

The verdict is in. Between melted and not melted........Melted wins! at least in this house.

If you run out of salami and cheese you can just eat the spread with your left over crackers, that happened to me :)
