Introduction: Scrapwood Table & Stool Set

About: I am a Woodworker, a Do It Yourself-er, a Tinkerer, a Husband, and a Father. I am in no way a professional, I'm just sick of living in a throw away society. Why should we buy everything we need, when buildin…

So I do a lot of cooking, As well as woodworking, And one of the forms of cooking I love best is smoking. This leaves me with lots of hickory scraps, So I thought I would put some of them to good use. Enjoy :)

Step 1: Step 1 : the Cut Lists

The Table :

Step 2: Step 2: the Tops.

Table :

Start by drilling the pocket holes along both sides of the 6 1/4 inch wide board.

then use pocket hole screws and glue to attach the 2 - 8 3/4 inch board to each side. this makes your top.

When the glue dries, sand it all smooth!

Stool :

Simply cut out the 9 3/4 inch by 19 1/4 inch board you will be using for the top.

Step 3: Step 3 : the Skirts

Table :

Start by drilling pocket holes into the 2 longer skirt pieces. (2 3/4 x 42 3/4 x 34)

then glue and screw them to the shorter skirt pieces. (2 3/4 x 20 x 3/4)

Stool :

Start by drilling pocket holes into the 2 longer skirt pieces. (2 3/4 x 5 1/2 x 3/4)

then glue and screw them to the shorter skirt pieces. (2 3/4 x 13 3/4 x 3/4)

Step 4: Step 4 : Glue Up the Legs

Table AND stool :

Glue the skinny leg boards to one side of the wider legs. clamp securely. no need to use nails or screws here. Just glue. clamp, and let dry :)

Step 5: Step 5 : Attach the Skirts

Table AND stool :

Again, The procedure here is the same for both the stool AND the table. Using pocket holes and pocket hole screws, Simply attach the skirt to the top. real simple. Glue it and screw it, and let it dry.
